About.Rochelle Hammond is a Canadian emerging artist and craftsperson who lives in Airdrie, Alberta, where she currently creates work from her home studio. Rochelle is working toward taking her life-long love of art to a professional level and is completing a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the Alberta University of the Arts with a major in Jewellery and Metals. She explores a wide range of mediums mainly through sculptural artwork or wearable jewellery. Her longing for escape and adventure often leads to whimsical and nostalgic imagery in her work. She enjoys bringing attention to the overlooked and unappreciated elements that make up so much of our lives. Rochelle thinks that making the mundane whimsical brings a new perspective to the world around us. Rochelle’s work has been exhibited at the Airdrie Public Library as well as in multiple exhibitions at the Alberta University of the Arts. Rochelle is currently working on creating a personal business to sell her artwork and is taking commissions from the public.
